Eindhoven, May 26, 2010 - Catalis SE, the worldwide service provider for
the digital media industry, is pleased to announce, in conjunction with
Paramount Digital Entertainment, the forthcoming release of Top Gun, the
game, on the Playstation Network. The downloadable game is being developed
by doublesix, the award winning specialist game developer of Kuju.
With the help of Jack Epps, Jr. (the script writer for the original Top Gun
film) doublesix has built a game that allows players to go beyond the
previous story line, going to new destinations and with more air-to-air
combat. Top Gun is a free-flying air combat shooter where, as Maverick,
players will engage in dogfight battles, attack ground- and air-based
targets and show off their flying prowess.
In the campaign mode players are introduced to the enemy, compete against
Iceman, Merlin and the other film characters for Top Gun flying honours and
go out on active combat, which occurs over the Indian Ocean. There are
single-player and five online multiplayer modes.
