Hamburg, Mai 31, 2010 - In the first quarter 2010, PROCON MultiMedia AG
(ISIN: DE0005122006, Prime Standard), an internationally leading
full-service provider of technical equipment for events, film and TV
productions, generated sales of EUR 24.4 million (previous year: EUR 20.3
million). The gross profit on sales raised from EUR 3.3 million to EUR 4.4
million.
The operating result amounts to EUR 0.8 million in the first quarter 2010
(previous year: EUR -0.2 million) and earnings before taxes to EUR 0.1
million (previous year: EUR -1.1 million). Earnings per share amount to EUR
-0.01 (previous year: EUR -0.07).
Procon could increase turnover and earnings in the first quarter 2010. This
increase was mainly caused by the international business. International
sales as a percentage of total sales amounts to 60 % - significantly higher
than in the first quarter of 2009 (39 %). Orders on hand as per May 31,
2010 amount to EUR 21.4 million (previous year: EUR 12.6 million). Although
this figure has limited validity for the coming months, due to the
short-term of the business, we have an optimitic view on 2010.
Projects served by Procon in the first quarter of 2010 have included
amongst others: the Echo Awards,Germany, the Olympic Winter Games in
Vancouver, Canada, as well as numerous international exhibition stands,
e.g. at the Detroit Motor Show, USA, and the International Motor Show in
Geneva, Switzerland. Recently, Procon served the Eurovision Song Contest in
Olso, Norway.
