Desire for perfect vision
More and more people are ditching their glasses and contact lenses and opting for laser eye surgery (LASIK) instead.
Desire for perfect vision(firmenpresse) - More and more people are ditching their glasses and contact lenses and opting for laser eye surgery (LASIK) instead. And although techniques have become safer and more sophisticated and the equipment ever more efficient, LASIK isn't just LASIK - the difference our state-of-the-art equipment can make is huge. It"s this difference that sets the sehkraft Augenzentrum Maus apart. There is no other laser eye clinic in Germany, and only one other worldwide, that uses technology of a comparable standard, even though laser eye surgery is the most commonly performed surgical procedure in the West.
sehkraft is the only clinic in Germany that corrects vision using the world's fastest laser, the Allegretto Wave Concerto. At 500 Hertz, the machine requires an average of just seven seconds to correct a person's vision. By using a smart system, the so-called Eyetracking Technology, the laser is able to follow even the smallest eye reflex movements. And the Concerto's speed ensures the most precise results - it"s accurate to less than one thousandth of a millimetre. According to Matthias Maus, ophthalmologist and director of sehkraft Augenzentrum Maus, "our procedure ensures that the treatment is particularly gentle and, unlike most other clinics, it also enables us to carry out procedures for more serious eye defects. Depending on the shape and thickness of the cornea, the treatment spectrum spans from -12 to +6 and, in the case of astigmatism, we can even go up to 8 dioptres". The results and reliability guaranteed by our equipment are unrivalled. This type of laser has been certified by the American Food and Drug Administration, FDA, as the only one capable of improving night and contrast vision. 59% of patients had an incredible visual acuity of 1.6 after the procedure. By way of comparison, the average is just 1.0.
State-of-the-art laser technology and highly trained staff
At the sehkraft Augenzentrum Maus in Cologne we have undertaken more than 40,000 refractive surgical laser operations and lens implants using our state-of-the-art LASIK equipment since opening in 1991. Corrective work on a number of professional sportsmen such as the biathlete Michael Greis, beach volleyball world champion Jonas Reckermann, cross-country skier Tobias Angerer and golfer Sven Strüver, has served to further enhance the clinic"s reputation.
In order to be able to offer patient"s treatment tailored to their specific needs, sehkraft Augenzentrum Maus employs only highly trained master optometrists and engineers specialising in vision care. Moreover, Maus remains committed to eye laser surgery - he was also instrumental in the development of the Concerto laser. "Our years of experience using custom-made LASIK equipment enable us to guarantee our patients optimal results and maximum reassurance," says Maus.
