GEA receives large order for insulin processing equipment from Julphar
(UAE)
Bochum, June 2, 2010 - GEA Group recently received a EUR 14 million order
for insulin processing equipment from Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries
(Julphar) in the United Arab Emirates. Julphar's new plant will make the
life-saving drug more widely available to patients in the United Arab
Emirates and throughout the Middle East and will comply with the latest
EMEA regulations. The order for GEA relates to the final phase of erecting
the plant. The order is due for completion by the middle of 2011.
Julphar is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the Middle East.
'With this new contract we continue our successful cooperation with Julphar
which began 13 years ago' said Heinz Waltersdorf, the responsible manager
at GEA Process Engineering.
GEA will provide the engineering, delivery, start-up and qualification of
the clean utilities along with various process technology equipment such as
clean-in-place systems. Dr. Ayman Sahli, General Manager of Julphar,
commented on the project: 'We are proud to proceed with the final phase of
our insulin crystals factory. Julphar underscores its commitment to highest
quality standards by partnering with the very best suppliers in the
industry.'
