Imtech: again 18 million euro technology order for stadiums Euro 2012 in Poland
(Thomson Reuters ONE) -
Gouda - Imtech (technical services provider in Europe) has again obtained an
order to provide technology solutions in one of the stadiums that will host the
UEFA Euro 2012 Football Championships in Poland. Following previous orders for
high-tech technical solutions in the Polish National Stadium in Warsaw and the
Polish PGE Baltic Arena in Gdansk, Imtech has now been commissioned to supply
all the technical solutions in the new stadium scheduled for construction in
Wroclaw. This new order is worth approximately 18 million euro.
René van der Bruggen, CEO Imtech: 'The power of the Imtech proposition - total
technical solutions through the combination of electrical solutions, ICT
(information and communication technology) and mechanical solutions - and our
strong position in Poland have resulted in some major orders for the UEFA Euro
2012 Football Championships. Imtech will now be responsible for the technical
solutions in the three most important Euro 2012 stadiums. In addition, Imtech is
also providing the sustainable technology in the Olympic Stadium now being built
in London and the high-tech fire safety systems in Sweden's new national
football stadium, the Swedbank Arena, currently under construction in Stockholm.
Gradually Imtech is developing into a leading technology partner for stadiums
and arenas throughout Europe.'
Wroclaw Stadium
Following an efficiency assessment, the organisation's original plan to renovate
the former Olympic Stadium in Wroclaw was replaced by a decision to realise a
brand new stadium with a seating capacity of almost 44,000. The stadium will
play host to Euro 2012 group matches. Imtech will be responsible for the energy
supply, climate control, heating, ventilation, sanitary and fire safety systems,
the complete power supply (high, medium and low voltage), all electrical
solutions, high-tech process control technology and the complete ICT
infrastructure.
Polish National Stadium in Warsaw and PGE Baltic Arena in Gdansk
Imtech had previously been commissioned to provide the high-tech climate
technology in the Polish National Stadium in Warsaw, which has a seating
capacity of 55,000 and facilities for underground parking for approximately
1750 vehicles. The stadium will be a principal venue for Euro 2012 and will host
the opening match, two group matches, a quarter-final and a semi-final. Imtech
is also providing the high-tech climate technology, including innovative energy
solutions, for the PGE Baltic Arena (seating capacity: 44,000). This stadium
will host four matches during Euro 2012 (three group matches and one semi
final). In the immediate area of the stadium a swimming pool, offices, shops,
hotel and parking facilities for 6,500 cars will also be realised.
Olympic Stadium in London and Swedbank Arena in Stockholm
Imtech is also responsible for the extremely energy-efficient climate technology
in the new sustainable Olympic Stadium for the 2012 Olympic Games in London
(seating capacity: 80,000) and the high-tech sprinkler technology in Sweden's
new national football stadium, the Swedbank Arena in Stockholm (seating
capacity: 50,000). This makes Imtech the only European technical services
provider simultaneously working on five major stadiums in Europe.
