The farm of Hermanuspietersfontein is located in the wine cultivation region of Sondagskloof. The winery is situated there in a valley between the hilly area around Stanford and the Atlantic Ocean. On an area of 320 hectares, various noble grapes grow here under almost perfect conditions. Sufficient rain, warm sunlight as well as the cool Atlantic breeze make for a unique microclimate which plays an important role for the development of the wines’ own character. Besides the noble grapes, the estate is a home for the typically South African fynbos bushes. Graceful animals such as leopards, roebucks and cheeky baboons also have their habitat here and roam through the spacious area close to the yard.
Besides many more noble grape varieties, mostly the Sauvignon Blanc grows here on the terroir of Hermanuspietersfontein; it can be found in all white wines of the estate. Whether developed in wood, matured in stainless steel tanks or as a part of a cuvee – white wines from this vine unfailingly offer a unique taste experience of an exceptional quality.
