Imtech: 35 million euro maintenance contracts in Spain
(Thomson Reuters ONE) -
Maintenance contract for Spain's highest tower: Madrid's 250-metre-high 'Torre
de Cristal'
Gouda - Imtech (technical services provider in Europe) is successfully targeting
the Spanish maintenance market in the industry as well as in the buildings
market. Imtech recently succeeded in obtaining Spanish maintenance orders worth
35 million euro. Compared to the same period last year, this represents a 35 %
increase in the order intake.
René van der Bruggen, CEO Imtech: 'The market in Spain is characterised by
challenging market conditions. Despite this, Imtech is now reaping the fruits of
strategic choices made in the recent past. The strong focus on the maintenance
market is paying off in a growing order intake. The position in the industrial
maintenance market has always been strong, but has been expanded to include
electrical services in addition to mechanical services. Imtech's maintenance
position in the buildings market has been build up since 2007. In this area as
well, Imtech acts now as a strong multidisciplinary technical maintenance
partner with a market position approaching the top 10.'
Industrial market
Imtech specialises in industrial maintenance, industrial shutdowns, technical
upgrading, renovation and industrial services in Spanish industries such as the
oil and gas industry and the petrochemical industry. The new long-term
multidisciplinary technical maintenance orders come from Repsol Petroleo in
Puertollano and Bayer Material Science in Tarragona.
Buildings market
On the Spanish buildings market, Imtech has proven that, in a market dominated
by large contractors, there is a demand for a professional technological
maintenance company with technical maintenance and management as a core
business. After a careful start in 2007, Imtech has succeeded in setting out a
distinguished maintenance vision and approach with optimum results for clients
in the market. Step by step, the number of clients and contracts has increased
to what is now a substantial level. Imtech provides its services covering both
the profit and non-profit sectors almost nationwide. New long-term orders
include the 'Torre de Cristal' (Spanish for Crystal Tower) in Madrid (the
highest tower in Spain at a height of 250 metres), 637 offices and various data
centres belonging to telecom company Telefónica, dozens of care centres in the
care districts of northern Seville and Aljarafe in the Andalusia region, the
shopping centre 'Màgic' (115,000 m²) in Badalona, near Barcelona, the head
office of the Provincial Directorate of Social Security in Malaga, the Regional
Ministry of Extremadura building in Merida and 23 Basque Police buildings. In
all of these contracts, Imtech guarantees the perfect balance between preventive
and corrective maintenance and short and long term investments, combined with
short response times and technical support that is available and accessible
24/7.
