While he was lawfully on the premises, he slipped and fell as he was walking through the building on a wet floor. The court documents stated that the floor was wet because of a leaky roof.
Those court documents went on to allege that the plaintiff suffered severe injuries to his ankle as a result of this fall and that he underwent surgery as a result of this harm. The lawsuit was filed alleging that the defendant high school failed to properly maintain a safe premises and that the defendant did not take sufficient steps to remove the dangerous condition that was the leaky floor nor did it properly warn other parties of this dangerous condition.
The court documents stated that the plaintiff was seeking to recover damages that would compensate him for his medical costs, for his lost income and for his pain and suffering along with several other forms of loss that he had incurred as a result of this incident. However, rather than fully litigate the matter, the parties were able to successfully negotiate an out-of-court settlement. Per an agreement between the parties, the specific terms of this settlement are being kept confidential.
