PostBase launched on US market to great success
- Decertification gives extra boost on the US rental market
- Investment in the future of the company
Birkenwerder, 8 February 2013. The new and innovative franking system from
the FP Group has proved a real hit with customers. In the USA, the
multi-channel provider has already sold around 6,000 PostBase systems for
mail communication.
The company first launched the product on the US market in April of last
year. The announcement of a new decertification procedure by the United
States Postal Service (USPS) in autumn 2012 has provided an extra boost.
Postal organisations perform decertification when old franking systems are
to be replaced by a new technological standard. The announced
decertification is focused on franking systems in the low end segment. It
began on 1 January 2013 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2015.
'PostBase meets our customers' requirements exactly. Decertification means
that PostBase is selling faster than even we expected,' says Andreas
Drechsler, Member of the Management Board of the FP Group. 'The US franking
machine market is exclusively a rental market where we can act quickly. We
are therefore not only securing our market share but also investing in the
future of our company,' continues Drechsler.
Despite the challenging conditions in the traditional mail business, the
franking machine market offers considerable potential for innovative
products. The award-winning PostBase really stands out with its innovative
operating concept. It has only one button, which is used for switching the
device on. Everything else is done easily and intuitively on a 4.3-inch
touchscreen. Using FP Navigator (RemoteOne), a PC program that connects to
the PostBase, you can select the correct postage value and sender address
blocks or send invoices to a cost centre of your choice, making your work
even easier and more convenient.
PostBase is the result of several years of work by the FP Group to develop
a franking system that fulfils customers' requirements. 'Our decision to
launch this innovative franking system on the market was the right one. We
will continue to invest in the traditional franking business in the future
too because it will remain an integral part of mail communication for
customers,' says Drechsler.
PostBase has also been well received in Germany and Austria, where more
than 2,000 units have already been sold. In 2013, the product is scheduled
for launch on other markets too, including Great Britain and Canada.
