Wholesale Internet Implements Noction IRP to Improve Network Performance
(firmenpresse) - PALO ALTO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/11/13 -- Wholesale Internet, a company specialized in providing internet services such as Colocation and Dedicated Servers, has announced its deployment of Noction Intelligent Routing Platform (IRP) to intelligently route traffic across multiple IP networks. Under the agreement, Wholesale Internet has installed in its Kansas City based datacenter.
Noction IRP will provide Wholesale Internet with intelligent route control, performance monitoring and reporting for the IP network. IRP's active probes will detect increased or packet loss through each connected ISP and automatically reroute traffic through higher performing routes. Deployed at the enterprise network edge, the platform will allow Wholesale Internet to take control of its network by adjusting and keeping predefined bandwidth commit rate levels for each provider link. "Noction IRP is one of those products that, once we deployed it in our network, we wondered how we had ever been in business without it," said Wholesale Internet founder, Aaron Wendel.
Most multi-homed networks rely solely on Border Gateway Protocol (), a basic protocol that operates between many networks that make up the Internet, to determine which route to take for any given destination. Since BGP is unaware of the path quality between two networks, performance can suffer. Noction IRP proactively reviews each network for the best performing route and directs traffic according to its performance policy, which includes such metrics as latency and packet loss. The deployment of IRP reduces the operational load of manual traffic management via router policies manipulation and improves the stability and predictability of the network.
