New SAP Manufacturing Templates for Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industries

Trebing + Himstedt are Development and Implementation Partners for "Batch Manufacturing with SAP MII"

(PresseBox) - With "Batch Manufacturing with SAP MII", SAP AG is now delivering preconfigured best practice templates to support the SAP Manufacturing Integration + Intelligence (SAP MII) solution. Within the scope of the coinnovation project of SAP and SAP MII partners, Trebing + Himstedt played a major role in the development of the templates and are now offering customers their expertise for the implementation process.
The templates are designed specifically for batch manufacturing requirements and provide prebuilt processes, user interfaces and contents for manufacturing preparation, execution, documentation and reporting. In detail, they cover the following nine application areas: rolespecific manufacturing operations cockpits, manufacturing order lists, material identification, work instructions, quality control, production confirmation, shift book, monitoring and logging, and manufacturing performance.
With the templates, SAP MII ensures seamless integration of business and shop floor levels and enables implementation of manufacturing execution functions independent of SAP ERP availability.
Forerunner to "Batch Manufacturing with SAP MII" is Sika AG, a Swissbased manufacturer of specialty chemicals for construction and industry. For efficient order processing in batch manufacturing in their new Kapaflex plant, Trebing + Himstedt developed and implemented the required SAP MII components which now form a central part of the new templates. Through optimized production processes, Sika could increase plant efficiency while at the same time profiting from a flexible infrastructure and enjoying lower license and implementation costs in comparison to traditional MES systems. Due to the intuitive operational concept and user interface, the solution was immediately accepted among Sika staff right from implementation day.
