Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Ontario's Leading Physiotherapy Organization to Discuss Its Proposal for Providing Windsor and La Salle Area Seniors With Much-Needed OHIP-Funded Physiotherapy

(firmenpresse) - WINDSOR, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/19/13 -- Thousands of ambulatory seniors across Ontario - including many in Windsor and La Salle - cannot access OHIP-funded physiotherapy, despite the fact that it's a proven, cost-effective way to keep seniors healthy - and out of the hospital.
Ontario's Designated Physiotherapy Clinics, which provide high-quality, low-cost, OHIP-funded physiotherapy to more than 150,000 Ontario seniors, children, social assistance recipients and disabled persons, want to change that.
Its association, the Designated Physiotherapy Clinics Association ("DPCA"), has a plan for providing physiotherapy to all the Ontario seniors who need it, in order to maintain their function and continue living in their own homes.
The DPCA proposes to partner with Long-Term Care ("LTC") homes, retirement residences, and seniors' activity centres, whose facilities would serve as physiotherapy treatment "hubs" for ambulatory seniors.
Please join Tina Bishai of the DPCA and Danielle Stevenson of Seasons Royal Oak Village to learn about how Windsor and La Salle area seniors would benefit from the plan.
