KTG Agrar AG garners an excellent response at world-leading BioFach trade
show

Hamburg, 20 February 2013. 'The current debate about the origin of food
will further bolster demand for regionally grown products. The excellent
response to our trade show exhibits confirms that we are on the right
track,' says CEO Siegfried Hofreiter, looking back on KTG Agrar AG's
presence at the BioFach 2013 trade show. 'We have used the past two years
to strengthen our expertise in this area and are now bringing numerous
innovative products to the market. We plan to build our Food Division's
sales to over EUR 100 million over the next two years,' Hofreiter explains.
The KTG Agrar Group premiered its wholistic approach at the world's leading
trade show for organic foods in Nuremberg. Under this approach, the
company's supply chain ranges 'from the field to the plate', meaning that
it grows produce, processes parts of this produce and supplies packaged
products to retailers. This concept is being implemented in the areas of
conventional and organic frozen food but also for such fresh produce as
potatoes, onions, carrots as well as in the area of cereals such as muesli.
Says Siegfried Hofreiter: 'We have had an excellent response to both our
strategy and our products from food retailers and consumers. In particular,
our microwave trays and our 'Dinner for One' line scored highly in tasting
sessions at the show.'
This year's BioFach trade show saw the KTG Group in attendance at three
booths. Successfully positioned in the growing segment of conventional and
organic frozen food, the Group's FZ Foods arm showcased its comprehensive
range of potato products and ready meals as well as its frosted vegetables
for retailers and large consumers. In addition, KTG's 'bio-zentrale' brand
presented its extended value chain which now also includes the processing
of grains grown by KTG into muesli, flour and oils. KTG's presence at the
Nuremberg trade show was rounded off by its 'biofarmers' brand, one of the
pioneers in the organic food market, which highlighted KTG Agrar's more
than 20 years of experience in growing organic foods. The KTG Group also
used the trade show to sell its remaining stocks of organic grains from the
2012 harvest and to sign contracts for this year's harvest.
