BDI will be called BDI - BioEnergy International AG in future

- 2010 Annual Shareholders' Meeting approves name change
- New name reflects strategic focus

(Graz, 01. July 2010) In order to reflect the broader strategic focus of
the company on the 'Waste to BioFuels' field, the Austrian company BDI -
BioDiesel International AG will be operating under the new name BDI -
BioEnergy International AG in future. With its acquisitions and in-house
technology developments, BDI has continued to extend its portfolio
steadily, developing from being a specialist for innovative BioDiesel
plants to being a manufacturer of special plants that provides economic and
industrial solutions for the processing of industrial waste and by-products
into high-quality biofuels.
The name change was approved by BDI's Annual Shareholders' Meeting this
year that was held on 18. May 2010, and is taking effect on 1. July 2010,
when it is entered in the Austrian trade directory.

'Following the extension of our product and service portfolio as well as
the acquisition of UIC and, more recently, of a majority interest in
Enbasys, the specialist for BioGas Technology, it was a logical step to
reflect the broader portfolio in the company name too', explains Wilhelm
Hammer, CEO of BDI - BioEnergy International AG. 'The new name enables the
company and its purpose to be clearly identified. Since BDI is a brand that
is respected all over the world, it continues to be included in the name as
well.

Expansion of the product and service portfolio

In addition to BioDiesel Plants based on the proven Multi-Feedstock
technology, BDI has started to supply innovative BioGas Technology this
year, which is designed primarily for demanding industrial users. The
extremely economic ENBAFERM Multi-Feedstock BioGas technology developed by
BDI's corporate partner Enbasys GmbH processes industrial and municipal
residual and waste materials very reliably and more efficiently than has
been possible in the past.

BDI co-operated with its German subsidiary UIC GmbH to combine two
cutting-edge technologies and to launch 'omega3+', a comprehensive plant
concept for the obtainment of high-quality Omega-3 Fatty Acids and valuable
Biofuel from Fish Oil, on the market recently.

With its 'RetroFit' programme, BDI optimises BioDiesel plants - most of
which were originally supplied by other manufacturers - so that they meet
increasingly exacting quality requirements and standards while improving
economic performance and raw material flexibility at the same time,
creating references for the BDI technology in new markets too as a result.

'RepCat' is a technology that has been developed specially for waste or
by-products from the oil and fat industry that can have up to 100% Free
Fatty Acids and are difficult to process but are therefore inexpensive too.
This completely new and innovative BioDiesel production process has already
proved to be effective on a large industrial scale in 2½years of very
successful operation.

The aim of the 'BioCrack' technology patented by BDI is to enable
refineries all over the world to reach a biological content level of up to
20 per cent in fuel during the refining process itself by making use of
by-products from the mineral oil industry, instead of adding BioDiesel to
the fuel - which has been the standard procedure up to now. Within the next
three years, the innovative new process will be implemented on a pilot
scale and develop to marketability in partnership with an international
mineral oil company.
