BayWa: 2012 result higher than forecast
Munich, 28 February 2013 - BayWa AG, Munich, Germany, has closed financial
year 2012 with great success. In its preliminary figures published on 28
February, the international trading and services company reported a
significant increase in both revenues and earnings before interest and tax
(EBIT). At around EUR10.5 billion, consolidated revenues exceeded the
ten-billion mark for the first time in 2012. The Group generated EBIT of
around EUR187 million in the recently completed financial year.
'The result shows a very positive development that confirms our targeted
growth strategy in the core business areas, both on a national and
international level. Even without the non-recurring earnings of around
EUR20 million, primarily resulting from the real estate sale of the BayWa
headquarters in Munich, we are still able to report an even higher result
in 2012 than we had originally forecast. This is mainly attributable to
significant improvement in operations,' explained Klaus Josef Lutz, Chief
Executive Officer of BayWa AG.
The positive performance in 2012 should also be reflected in the dividend
for the recently completed year, he said, adding that the Board of
Management would put forward a proposal to the Supervisory Board to raise
the dividend from EUR0.60 to EUR0.65 per share, corresponding to an
increase in the dividend of at least 8%. 'The dividend of the BayWa share
has therefore more than doubled from EUR0.32 since 2007,' emphasised Klaus
Josef Lutz.
BayWa AG will publish detailed figures along with its balance sheet on 21
March 2013.
