KONE Corporation, press release, February 28, 2013

KONE has been awarded a contract by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit
Authority (WMATA) to replace 128 escalators at 34 stations throughout
Washington, D.C.'s Metro transportation system. The contract is part of WMATA's
multi-year capital improvement program known as Metro Forward. KONE was selected
through a procurement process which took into consideration KONE's technical
excellence and expertise providing replacement solutions for the mass transit
segment.

Under the agreement, KONE will replace up to 128 outdated escalators with KONE's
industry leading heavy-duty transit escalators, designed to meet the needs of
highly demanding public areas and featuring the latest in eco-efficient
technology, safety, and reliability.

"We are honored to have been chosen to work on this major renovation, which will
improve escalator reliability across the Metro system for years to come," said
Larry Wash, KONE EVP and Area Director for the Americas. "Our energy-efficient
solutions and expertise in the mass transit segment will ensure the system will
receive the significant renovations it needs, while minimizing potential
disruption for passengers."

The order was booked in the first quarter of 2013 and is expected to be
completed by 2020.
