Brilon, March 6, 2013: the SDAX-listed company CENTROTEC Sustainable AG,
Brilon, is establishing its own stand-alone production company for heat
exchangers for use in innovative climate control systems. The new company
Holmak HeatX B.V., with around 35 employees, is being created through the
merger of the Dutch production operations for plastic heat exchangers for
home heat recovery ventilation systems with the recently acquired
manufacturer of aluminium counterflow heat exchangers Holmak D.O.O.E.L. The
takeover agreement for the Macedonia-based heat exchanger specialist Holmak
D.O.O.E.L., established in 2005, was concluded in February 2013.
'This strategic acquisition extends our expertise and vertical integration
in the increasingly important area of innovative heat recovery solutions',
commented Gert-Jan Huisman, Management Board Chairman of CENTROTEC
Sustainable AG in connection with the takeover. 'We will run this new
business area for the CENTROTEC Group through a separate, independent
company headquartered in the Netherlands, in which we will pool our
expertise in the domain of heat exchangers.'
The expertise in plastic heat exchangers stems from the many years of
experience residing within the CENTROTEC subsidiary Brink Climate Systems,
one of the leading manufacturers of comfort home ventilation systems in
Europe. The EUROVENT-certified aluminium counterflow heat exchangers are
manufactured on modern machinery at a facility in Macedonia. As well as
plastic heat exchangers with an air capacity of up to 400 m³/h, the product
range includes aluminium counter-flow heat exchangers with air capacities
of up to 2,000 m³/h. The plans envisage the further expansion of the
product range in terms of appliance sizes and heat exchanger materials.
Configuration software to help with the selection and calculation of the
most suitable heat exchanger type is available for customers.
'By bringing together the production of heat exchangers in a separate
division, we expect to push the innovation process and make our expertise
available to a wider circle of customers, independently of the brand
business involving climate control and home ventilation systems in the
Climate Systems segment - this is similar to our approach for gas flue
systems, where we have been successfully acting as OEM-manufacturer in the
heating business for many years,' explained Gert-Jan Huisman with regard to
the strategy of the newly created division.
The new company now has an Internet presence at www.holmak.eu and will be
introducing itself to a wider audience for the very first time at the ISH,
the world's biggest industry exhibition for heating and climate control
technology, which takes place in Frankfurt from March 12 to 16. Customers
and interested parties are welcome to call in at Stand D59 in Hall 9, where
they will be greeted by Managing Director Mark Lammers. The takeover is
subject to the approval of the Macedonian competition authorities.
CENTROTEC Sustainable AG
CENTROTEC Sustainable AG and its subsidiaries enjoy a presence in over 50
different countries. The principal group companies are Wolf, Brink Climate
Systems and Ned Air in the Climate Systems segment, which have specialised
in heating, climate control and ventilation technology e.g. in the form of
solar thermal systems, CHP units and residential ventilation systems with
heat recovery, as well as Ubbink and Centrotherm, which have focused on gas
flue and air ducting systems in the Gas Flue Systems segment. CENTROTEC is
consequently Europe's only listed full-service provider of heating and
climate control technology, solar thermal systems and energy-saving
solutions for buildings.
