Lantech Industrial Switches Apply in UK's Tunnel Project
(PresseBox) - The tunnel L connects the south bank and the north bank of the river in Great Britain. As the usage of the tunnel is estimated to rise beyond the load, the authority decides to construct a second tunnel and renew the old one. Lantech is honor to play a part in this project by providing our highquality industrial switches.
The project adopts Lantech IES-2206F-II-E and IES-2216C-E managed industrial switches. With wide operating temperature from -40°C to 75°C, Lantech switches are able to sustain in harsh tunnel environment. The Ethernetbased network connects IP CCTV, audio PA, telephones, VMS (Variable Message Signs), lighting control and ventilation fans (SCADA system) and also some traffic control systems for management remotely. Thus, the reliability and durability of the network became the top priority. The project applies Lantech Pro-Ring protocol to construct a reliable network environment. They use four separate X-Ring groups for two tunnels where each X-Ring group connects to upper layer Cisco switches by Dual Homing protocol. On the other hand, these two models also support fully management functions, including the IGMP protocol for multicasting, which is important for video transmission. These advantages make Lantech products the best choice in this project.
