Universities mark 10(th) anniversary of partnership for Web of Science data
SYDNEY, 19 March 2013 - The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson
Reuters, the world's leading provider of intelligent information for businesses
and professionals, today announced that Universities Australia has renewed the
purchasing agreement that allows 36 members access to the Thomson Reuters Web of
Science database for three additional years. This ensures that researchers have
access to high quality scientific literature. This renewal marks the 10(th) year
of the partnership with Thomson Reuters.

"Today marks a significant milestone for the scholarly research community in
Australia," said Christopher Kibarian, president, Thomson Reuters IP & Science.
"Leading academic institutions across the continent are endorsing the value they
receive from Thomson Reuters scientific literature and making a commitment to
continue to provide the world's highest quality, curated content to further
research and innovation. We are honoured to continue our partnership with
Universities Australia."

Universities Australia is the peak body representing Australian universities. It
supports the vital role played by scientific research in promoting the economic
and social wellbeing of all Australians.

"We are pleased to continue our partnership with Thomson Reuters by extending
access to Web of Science for another three years. This scientific research and
discovery platform enables us to compete more effectively in the global research
environment," said Belinda Robinson, chief executive of Universities Australia.

In addition to extending access to Web of Science, Universities Australia
renewed members' access to Journal Citation Reports, to measure research
influence and impact at the journal and category levels, as well as initiated
access to Book Citation Index, an additional database within Web of Science.

Web of Science is a Web of Knowledge database that offers a true cited reference
index, which is the best tool for discovery and the only method for retrieving
accurate citation counts.
