Titled, "Energy Forecasting and Planning: Understanding the energy profile of your data center," this session will be held on Wednesday, March 27 at 1:30 pm. Understanding the energy profile of a data center beyond power usage effectiveness is crucial for energy forecasting and planning. Attendees will learn how to yield the greatest return from their data center resources. With ABB's data center infrastructure management solution, Decathlon, customers can view and access their data center energy profile, determine true capacity using the PAR4 energy efficiency rating and create accurate energy forecasts.
Pfeiffer will also give a second presentation titled, "Increasing data center reliability on the smart grid." This session will be held on Wednesday, March 27 at 4:30 pm. Major players in the infrastructure and demand response market have been unsuccessful in monetizing data center loads on the smart grid without compromising reliability and increasing risk. In this session, Power Assure and ABB report on emerging case studies, using their technologies in multiple ISO markets. Data centers with proper equipment, monitoring, analytics, and automation can participate in both automated demand response programs and larger revenue producing ancillary services market, creating new cash flows and funding for hardware refresh and other upgrades to increase reliability.
