IMG Names Catherine Bennett Senior Vice President and Managing Director of IMG Fashion Events and Properties
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 03/25/13 -- IMG Worldwide, the global sports, fashion and media company, announced today the appointment of Catherine Bennett as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of IMG Fashion Events and Properties.
In her new role, she will be responsible for further developing and expanding the company's leading fashion events business around the globe, and representing many of the industry's top organizations.
Ms. Bennett joins IMG from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), the not-for-profit American fashion industry's preeminent designer trade association and affiliated charity, where she served as the Head of Business Affairs. During her four years at the CFDA, she was involved in all operations and activities relating to the 400 members of America's leading apparel and accessories designers. She was responsible for identifying, negotiating and securing new revenue platforms and creating and developing business opportunities for all CFDA programs.
During her time at the CFDA, Ms. Bennett helped to significantly increase and elevate the organization's corporate partnership program and helped spearhead the development of International programs for designer engagement. In addition, she worked on transactions related to all of the Council's myriad programs, including the CFDA Fashion Awards, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, the CFDA {Fashion Incubator}, and all of the CFDA Foundation's charitable initiatives, with a special emphasis on Fashion Target's Breast Cancer, which has raised over $50 Million Dollars.

Prior to joining the CFDA, Ms. Bennett was a Business Affairs Executive at the William Morris Agency, LLC in New York where she negotiated complex transactions for clients across a variety of platforms including rights acquisition agreements, technology, new media, production, license and partnership agreements.
She also served as a Media Relations Consultant to the Central Parks Summer Stage and as an Account Manager at Hill & Knowlton in the Arts and Entertainment Division.
A member of the New York State Bar, Ms. Bennett holds a BA degree from Sara Lawrence College and a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center. She is a Member of the Board of The Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter and a member of the GO Project Benefit Committee.
Ms. Bennett replaces Peter Levy who has left the Company.
