Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands - Ahold has repurchased 1,790,015 Ahold common shares
in the period from July, 19 2010 up to and including July, 23 2010. The shares
were repurchased at an average price of ? 10.1434 per share for a total
consideration of ? 18.16 million. These repurchases were made as part of the ?
500 million share buyback program announced on March 4, 2010.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 15,849,170
common shares for a total consideration of ? 162.0 million.
