RTI Chief Commercial Officer to Present on the Role of COTS Technologies in Developing Next Generation Avionics Systems
(firmenpresse) - SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/28/13 -- , the real-time infrastructure software company, today announced its participation at the upcoming taking place on April 2, 2013 in Fairborn, OH, near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Over 25 partners from industry and government will showcase examples of products that are aligned with the that helps ensure warfighters can quickly and affordably benefit from continued software innovations.
During the exposition, RTI will provide live demonstrations of , its small-footprint Data Distribution Service (DDS) software solution for resource-constrained devices and applications that require certification to stringent safety standards such as DO-178C Level A. The demonstration will be part of the Wind River reference platform that is showcasing a FACE commercial-off-the shelf (COTS) solution stack based on technology from Wind River, GE Intelligent Platforms, RTI and Esterel Technologies.
In addition to the live product demos, RTI executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Curt Schacker, will also be presenting at the event. In his talk, titled "FACE-ing Reality: Maintaining our Military Edge in the Modern World," Curt Schacker will explore how, in light of disruptive technological evolution along with severe economic realities, we have reached a point where we must holistically reconsider our approach to specifying, procuring and developing avionics systems. The presentation will consider the role of COTS technologies in the development of next generation avionics systems and contemplate how commercial software products, such as operating systems and middleware, can contribute to maintaining our edge in the skies.
