Motor Service to market Permaglide to trade and industry
Kolbenschmidt Pierburg stepping up its industrial business
(PresseBox) - KS Gleitlager GmbH, St. Leon-Rot, has transferred to its affiliate Motor Service the marketing to wholesalers of the lowmaintenance and maintenancefree plain bearings in standard dimensions which it manufactures under the name of Permaglide. Motor Service, a global aftermarket specialist, is thus taking over completely from the Schaeffler Group the marketing of these Permaglide products, an activity it intends to further expand.
Within the Kolbenschmidt Pierburg Group (Rheinmetall Group), KS Gleitlager as a supplier to the international automotive market, is specialized in the development and manufacture of plain bearings and bushings. These wet- or dryrunning Permaglide bearings are used in the automotive and other industries wherever and even under tough conditions, it is essential for the bearings and bushings to maintain full functionality throughout their servicelife. Permaglide products are available as (flange) bushings, disks, strips or in other special shapes, both in lead and zerolead versions. One finds these in farming and special machinery, pumps, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic components, in mechanical and power tools, in rail and specialpurpose vehicles.
In transferring the trade marketing activities to Motor Service, KS Gleitlager is capitalizing on the expertise and global presence of this independent aftermarket specialist. In addition and besides proactive marketing activities, KS Gleitlager is looking to closer ties with the technical wholesale trade and hence a direct and effective service for this group of customers.
Motor Service is represented in over 130 countries where it markets OEMquality products to independent workshops and engine repair shops. Unaffected by this organizational move is the marketing of Motor Service products as part of the auto parts business. This will continue through the international independent aftermarket trade.
