(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/09/13 -- The BCIT Marketing Association (BCITMA) achieved unprecedented success in winning the case competition for the second year in a row at the annual American Marketing Association (AMA) International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans! The conference, held in March, was an opportunity for marketing students to network with other students, attend educational sessions, and compete in a number of marketing-related competitions.

Case Competition & Awards

The case competition is the capstone competition of the conference. This year's case was for Pearson Learning Solutions. The case team, led by Kevin Murray and Kevin Willemse, put in hundreds of hours outside of class to conduct primary and secondary research and put together a report and presentation that aimed to increase organ donation among 18 - 24 year olds across the United States.

The BCITMA not only won for their DLA Case Study, but they also placed 3rd in the website competition, and garnered 7 awards in the AMA Saves Lives organ donation competitions for video submissions, social media posts and organ donation activities.

The BCITMA is currently a silver chapter in the AMA (top ten), and is already well on its way to preparing for next year's competition. The BCITMA manages to maintain its high standing by holding numerous marketing events during the year that are put into an annual report to be judged by the AMA. This year, the two big successes for the BCITMA were Marketing Week (a week of industry speakers, an agency tour, and a Hootup); and Regionals, a smaller version of the AMAICC with a sales competition and four prestigious speakers from the Vancouver marketing world.
