Carl Natermann began producing lead shot in 1847 after purchasing the Hannoversch Munden tower, built in the Middle Ages in Germany. Production of lead shot continued in the tower until the 1980s. The nearby factory-building manufactured other lead articles.
H&N has gone as far as to build their own machinery for exclusive production of top-notch muzzle-loader and reloader bullets and air rifle pellets. Their one-of-a-kind lead pellets exceed the quality standards for present day ammunition. By producing a wide range of air gun pellets in a variety of caliber, H&N attracts more than half of the expert shooters in the Olympics to use their ammunition.
