2013 Technology Impact Award Finalists Announced
BC Companies Making Their Mark on the World
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/25/13 -- Today the BC Technology Industry Association (BCTIA) announced the finalists for the 2013 Technology Impact Awards (TIAs). Under the awards theme of 'BC's Mark on the World', the 2013 finalists reaffirm British Columbia's status as innovators in a cross-section of technologies including enterprise software, telecommunications, hardware, biotechnology and nanotechnology.
The breadth of technologies being developed, and the markets that they serve, illustrate the strength and diversity of the BC Technology Industry. Solutions include a variety of hardware and software technologies, and in many cases include a blend of both.
"The 2013 TIAs finalists are clearly making their mark on the world, selling to and partnering with some of the largest organizations around the globe," stated BCTIA President Bill Tam. "These companies represent thousands of jobs, tens of millions in investment, research and development, and hundreds of millions in annual exports." Tam added.
The Technology Impact Awards honour three distinct groups: Technology, People and Company. This year's finalists are:
Adoption of Technology:
Excellence in Product Innovation
Most Promising Pre-Commercial Technology
Community Engagement
Team of the Year
Most Promising Start-Up
Emerging Company of the Year
Company of the Year
Other awards to be presented at the Technology Impact Awards Gala include:
Person of the Year: Awarded to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the BC technology industry during the past year. This contribution may be through paid or volunteer activities with a company, research institution, association, or non-profit agency.
Winners will be announced on June 6th, at the 20th Anniversary of the Technology Impact Awards Gala, to be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre-West Building. Learn more and purchase tickets at .
