Local ISP and Cellular players welcomes Vasseti's Malaysian Costal Network
(MCN)
KUALA LUMPUR - APRIL 29th , 2013 - V Telecoms Berhad, a subsidiary of
Vasseti (UK) Plc, which owns and is deploying the Malaysian Costal Network
that forms part of the Vasseti South Asian Network or commonly known as
VSAN has generated enormous interest from local carriers. The company's
philosophy of being a neutral player or carrier has been warmly welcomed by
all players in the telecomunication industry as they seek ways to channel
resources and cash into marketing and sales activities instead of costly
civil and installation works. Being a neutral carrier allows other players
to shift their burden and cost of deploying new infrastructure of their
books.
The Company deploys Metro-E, which is known, as Optical Metro Ethernet and
is the latest development/advancement in network technology; it makes
network operations simpler while enhancing capacity and flexibility
resulting in very competitive network services. VTEL's network spans across
Peninsular Malaysia - covering all major cities and towns as well as
connecting the borders of Singapore and Thailand. The available trunk
capacity is currently 320Gbps - which is being upgraded to more than 3 Tbps
with additional infrastructure. VTEL also has its own cross-border Metro-E
link in Malaysia into Singapore and Thailand.
Tier-1 players now are also shifting their focus into Metro-E as most
'enterprise' companies are looking at Metro-E solutions for their use,
therefore instead of re-deploying the network, it would be more economic to
utilize Vasseti's Network as its already Metro-E ready. According to the
companies Chief Technology Officer, Mr Sayed Mustafa, there have been
numerous enquiries form Local Cellular companies, such as Celcom, Maxis,
Digi as well as regional players from Thailand and Singapore for their
deployments.
