Conceptua(R) Math Announces Visionary Advisory Board

The Conceptua Advisory Board includes leaders in the Common Core movement, change agents in math education, and people with vast experience from the classroom to the national level. These advisors will guide Conceptua Math in its approach to curriculum development and delivery. The team includes:
- Steve Leinwand is one of the most important voices in math education today. As a primary messenger in the Common Core movement, he boldly motivates school districts across the country. For over 30 years, Steve has held leadership positions in mathematics education. He is a Principal Research Analyst at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) in Washington, D.C., has served as a Mathematics Consultant with the Connecticut Department of Education, and was president of the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics.
Julie McNamara is a valuable Conceptua collaborator. Her doctoral research involved student achievement in fractions, and she consulted with Conceptua Math while writing her Math Solutions book, Beyond Pizzas and Pies: 10 Essential Strategies for Supporting Fraction Sense, Grades 3-5. Dr. McNamara is currently part of the team at the University of Michigan and has served on teaching staffs at the University of California at Berkeley and Saint Mary's College.
Dan Meyer is one of the nation's leading advocates for innovation, creativity, and the use of technology in math education. He is a well-known speaker, author, and blogger (dy/dan) with over 15,000 followers on Twitter. Dan has been seen on , , , and Every Day with Rachel Ray promoting an engaging approach to math education. He is pursuing a doctoral fellowship at Stanford University in math education.
Robyn Silbey has provided guidance and direction to Conceptua Math since the inception of the company. She is a top-tier professional development expert who worked as a math coach for 25 years at Montgomery County Public Schools, MD. She specializes in Singapore Math strategies and in the use of technology in education.
