Galen Healthcare Solutions Announces New CEO Joel Splan
Former Director of Information Services at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare to Lead Galen
(firmenpresse) - GROSSE POINTE, MI -- (Marketwired) -- 05/01/13 -- Galen Healthcare Solutions, a professional and technical services company that helps physician groups transition to electronic health records (EHR), today announced the appointment of Joel Splan as Chief Executive Officer effective April 29, 2013.
Splan brings nearly 15 years of relevant industry experience to his new role, having previously served as the Director of Information Services, Chief Security Executive, and Director of Technology and Infrastructure Management at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. Splan replaces Steve McQueen, who will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Splan has extensive experience in clinical information systems, data center environments, technical infrastructure, and service management processes that support these systems. During Splan's tenure at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, he deployed a wide variety of higher information technology (HIT) solutions, and directed and coordinated corporate information services, including all phases of systems design, programming, installation, and operations across multiple hospitals and outreach sites.
Splan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in International Business at Northwest Missouri State University.
