Strongest Lineup Ever

(firmenpresse) - AJAX, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 05/01/13 -- Bolstered by a solid lineup, April sales for came in at record levels for the sixteenth consecutive month. Company sales of 6,248 new cars and light trucks were 11% above last year's total (5,620). Year-to-date, the news is also very positive as Volkswagen has delivered 19,416 vehicles, bettering last year by 12% (17,332).

"Our entire lineup is more affordable than ever," stated Maria Stenstrom, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada. "We have built a reputation for offering European design and quality while offering excellent value."

The remains the top-seller in the lineup, accounting for 2,814 units last month. Year-to-date, Jetta sales are 52% greater than last year.

Sales of the Volkswagen compact sport utility were also particularly strong. A total of 641 were delivered, which was 19% more than from the same period in 2012. Now available from a starting price of under $25,000, the Tiguan combines the style and performance of the iconic along with the rugged good looks and carrying capacity of a sport utility vehicle.
