Toronto Int'l Deaf Film & Arts Festival (TIDFAF) Celebrates Deaf Cinema & Culture

"TIDFAF will screen a record-breaking 20+ films from across the globe and we are proud to be recognized as the largest Deaf film festival in North America," says Catherine MacKinnon, festival founder & director. TIDFAF is particularly excited about their visual arts presentation partnerships with the Deaf Culture Centre and the Canadian Cultural Society of the Deaf as well as an industry workshop presentation partnership with ACTRA National and ACTRA Toronto. TIDFAF youth filmmaker boot camp will also showcase Deaf filmmakers of the future at Ryerson University during TIDFAF.
TIDFAF kicks off its Red Carpet Gala opening night (May 9) with documentary short Crossing the Divide (Cathy Heffernan, 2012, England) and the Canadian debut of director Judy Lieff's international award-winning feature film Deaf Jam (2011, USA) ().
