Ahold appoints Group Chief Information Officer

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, May 14, 2013 - Ahold today announced the appointment
of Ben Wishart to the new role of Group Chief Information Officer. Ben will
start on June 17, reporting to Jeff Carr, CFO, and will be based at Ahold's
Corporate Center in the Netherlands.
CFO Jeff Carr stated: "Technology is an increasingly critical element in
ensuring the success of our Reshaping Retail strategy. I am pleased that Ben
joins us to lead the next stage of Ahold's journey as we are responding to a
changing retail world, leveraging our scale and coordinating technology. Ben has
significant retail experience and brings a strong combination of strategic
leadership, business transformation, team-building capabilities and technology
leadership skills to this new role."
A British national, Ben joins Ahold from UK Food retailer Morrisons plc, where
he was CIO. Ben also served as CIO at Whitbread plc, theUK's leading hospitality
business and, prior to that, he worked at Tesco plc in various senior IM roles.
