INFORUM Hosts Instagram Founders Kevin Systrom & Mike Krieger at The Castro Theatre
(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/14/13 -- INFORUM announced today that it will host Instagram co-founders, Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, on May 30th at The Castro Theatre in conversation with Kevin Rose, general partner at Google Ventures.
Since its release in October 2010, Instagram is reported to have surpassed 100 million active users, with peak uploads at more than 200 photographs per second. This launched co-founders Systrom and Krieger to nearly insta-fame -- their eye-catching communications platform has not left the limelight since. In April 2012, Facebook acquired Instagram for $1 billion dollars. This was followed by a highly controversial policy-change announcement that was quickly reverted in December 2012. Yet, despite being in the thick of tech hoopla, Instagram has established a glowing community dedicated to the app's ability to document the world around us.

Systrom and Krieger both ventured from afar to attend Stanford University, majoring in management science and engineering, and symbolic systems, respectively. Their business plan later clicked after regular encounters at San Francisco coffeehouses. Five months after Instagram's October 2010 launch, following an extensive naming process, and attention from many of Silicon Valley's top companies and investors, Systrom and Krieger were toasting to one million users.
