Essanelle Hair Group presents figures for the first quarter 2013
Sales revenue on last year's level at EUR 30.8 million
EBT ranges at EUR 0.6 million after EUR 1.0 million in the previous year
Düsseldorf, 15 May 2013 - In the first quarter of 2013, Essanelle Hair
Group AG generated sales revenues amounting to EUR 30.8 million, which
ranged slightly above the same period for the previous year (+0.1%).
Regarding the individual salon concepts of the company, HairExpress had an
increase in sales of 1.4% from EUR 10.1 million to EUR 10.2 million. As in
the previous year, Super Cut generated sales amounting to EUR 5.6 million
(+1.1%). The essanelle Ihr Friseur concept achieved EUR 13.1 million after
EUR 13.5 million in the previous year (-2.5%). The Beauty Hair Shop
concept, which specialises in the sale of exclusive hair care products,
increased by 8.8% above the previous year's level with sales amounting to
EUR 1.8 million after EUR 1.7 million.
The earnings performance indicators of Essanelle Hair Group mainly
decreased because of over-proportionately increased personnel expenditures.
Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA)
decreased by 18.2% from EUR 2.1 million to EUR 1.7 million compared to the
previous year. After the first three months of 2013, Earnings Before Tax
(EBT) once again ranged on the same level as in 2011, at EUR 0.6 million,
thereby lying below the previous year's level of EUR 1.0 million (-39.1%).
Finally, earnings per share amounted to EUR 0.08 after EUR 0.12 in the
previous year.
Achim Mansen, CEO of Essanelle Hair Group AG: 'We are quite satisfied with
the sales performance in the first quarter and we even expect a more
significant increase over the course of the year. Regarding earnings
performance indicators, we admittedly range below the previous year's
figures, but still lie within the scope of our own strategies. For the full
year, we continue to expect sales to be 1-2% above last year's level and
EBT to range between EUR 5.5 million and EUR 6.0 million.'
