In January, Puppet Labs announced a $30 million investment by VMware. Coincident with the funding, the companies agreed to a strategic partnership with the joint mission of enabling customers to fully realize the benefits of virtualization and cloud computing in heterogeneous, multi-vendor IT environments. Specifically, Puppet Labs' approach to IT automation unlocks the agility and productivity advantages of these disruptive platforms at a scale ranging from tens of servers to thousands, regardless of whether they are on-premise or in the cloud.
