Brussels, June 3, 2013 --- Solvay announced today that it has successfully
completed the registration of its 161 chemical substances concerned by the
second tonnage band under REACH. This phase of the registration process
mobilized a team of approximately one hundred people within the Group.

"With the completion of this second phase, we can now provide our customers with
exhaustive data enabling them to use our products under the best possible
conditions. REACH represents a fantastic opportunity to give new impetus to our
innovation, to substitute some of our products and to orient our business
activities towards a more sustainable type of chemistry," explains Gerard
Collette, Industrial Director of Solvay.

In line with its commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE) and,
more particularly, its focus on product safety, Solvay has supported REACH from
the outset and rapidly took steps to respect and perform the different duties
imposed by these regulations. Solvay's teams are now mobilized around the
successful completion of the third REACH registration phase in June 2018 that
will concern some 400 chemical substances manufactured or imported in quantities
of between 1 and 100 metric tons per year.
