As a competent service provider, GIZ supports the German government in achieving its objectives in international cooperation.
GIZ in Afghanistan based in Kabul, supporting the reconstruction of the country since 2002. In total, around 320 delegates and more than 1,500 local employees involved in about 60 projects for GIZ in Afghanistan - more than in any other country. The focus of the work is to improve the livelihoods of the rural population in particular, because this is the only way to overcome the obstacles of the development of the past two decades. More difficult is the civilian reconstruction due to the security situation in some provinces.
