BMO Harris Bank Volunteers Lend a Hand to Chicago's Western Suburbs
Families, Military and Animals Alike Benefit From Bank's Employee Volunteer Day
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 06/06/13 -- Employees of BMO Harris Bank partnered with over 50 organizations in the Greater Chicagoland Area for their largest annual Employee Volunteer Day yet. During the week of June 3, over 1,500 Chicagoland employees took time away from their desk to volunteer at various nonprofits throughout their community.
Over 500 employees in the western suburbs rolled up their sleeves to help their community and those in need. Among their many projects, they:
Joined DuPage County Habitat for Humanity groups in renovating homes for local families and military personnel recently returned from active duty
Led Elmhurst's YMCA campers in a variety of activities alongside Chicago Bulls mascot Benny the Bull and Chicago Blackhawks mascot Tommy Hawk
Cleaned facilities at Naperville Humane Society and socialized with the shelter's animals
Prepared and served meals at Hesed House in Aurora
Reorganized and refreshed the Loaves & Fishes Naperville facility
Assisted in preparing recreational areas for summer activities through the Fox Valley Park District
Worked on a wetland restoration project at Lisle's Morton Arboretum
Helped with landscaping, painting and cleaning projects at Lazarus House in St. Charles

Over 5,600 BMO employees participated in this year's North American-wide BMO Volunteer Day, initially started in 2001.
