(firmenpresse) - COLUMBUS, OH -- (Marketwired) -- 06/10/13 -- SCI Engineered Materials, Inc. (SCI) (OTCQB: SCIA) today announced it has joined the U.S. Photovoltaic Manufacturing Consortium (PVMC), headquartered at SUNY's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering in Albany, New York. This marks an important step for SCI towards greater recognition of its manufacturing capabilities and growing line of products for the thin film solar market.

Dr. Scott Campbell, Ph.D., Vice President of Technology, said, "We are very pleased to join PVMC and look forward to working with its members to accelerate commercial development of the next generation of solar photovoltaic systems. This membership associates us with a recognized leader in thin film solar technology development, specifically in the high-growth copper indium gallium di-selenide (CIGS) market. SCI currently manufactures sputtering target products for the application of transparent conductive oxide (TCO) films used in the fabrication of thin film solar cell panels. PVMC's independent assessment of solar panels manufactured with TCO films utilizing SCI's targets will provide current and potential customers with the panel scale data they desire."
