Berliner Synchron AG to publish preliminary figures for the business
year

Berlin, 18th June, 2013. Berliner Synchron AG is releasing preliminary
figures for the business year 2012. It is expected that the operating
profit - adjusted for the extraordinary allowance for depreciation of the
property and a software - will have improved from -EUR 421k for the
business year 2011 to presumably
-EUR 390k.
The company seems to have increased its performance slightly as it is
expected that the operating loss for the business year 2011 of EUR 398k
diminished to presumably EUR 166k in 2012.
The extraordinary depreciation announced by the Executive Board as a
consequence of the property sale turned out to be less than expected.
Taking into consideration several special items the equity-to-assets ratio
was improved from 16 % - 22 % in the year on year comparison.
Like the year before, Berliner Synchron AG was able to generate a
considerable increase in revenues due to flexible operation methods in the
TV segment. Total revenues achieved amounted to EUR 8,393k (2011: EUR
8,065k) - 63% of which can be attributed to TV. The Executive Board was
happy to announce that sizeable and sustainable savings in the overall cost
structure were also achieved - EUR 361k in total.
Overall Berliner Synchron AG is expected to close the business year 2012
with a net loss of EUR 317k (2011: EUR 333k).
Berliner Synchron AG to reinforce its production optimization activities
Berliner Synchron AG has commissioned a software prototype after an
extensive analysis of the dubbing and games localization industry. The
prototype in question is a steering software which compared to the rest of
the systems customary in the industry will result in significant gains in
the length of production processes.
It is expected that this prototype can go into testing as early as in the
autumn 2013 and start to revolutionize production processes in early 2014.
The Executive Board is certain that this will mean a significant increase
in Berliner Synchron's competitiveness and ensure that production processes
can be drastically improved to meet the standards demanded by all major
Hollywood Studios. 'Accelerated Dubbing' will then be possible with decent
margins and less pressure from the competition.
