Alma Media Corporation        Press release  June 19, 2013 at 16.00 (EEST)

AAMULEHTI TO RENEW AND SHIFT TO TABLOID AS OF APRIL 2014

Aamulehti, the largest regional newspaper of Alma Media, will be printed on
tabloid format as of the beginning of April 2014. At the same time several
renewals will be made to the structure and story types of the newspaper. As the
newspaper is renewed, new technical possibilities, provided by Alma Media's new
printing facility in Tampere, will be utilised to increase diversity of the
printed product.

- Aamulehti's renewal and the new tabloid format will first of all improve the
reading experience further. Nine out of our ten readers favour the shift to
tabloid size, and national-level advertisers are already used to the format. The
unified print format among Alma Media's regional papers will also bring
significant operational advantages into content production, says Mr. Jouko
Jokinen, Editor-in-Chief of Aamulehti.

Aamulehti is the last one of Alma Media's newspapers to shift to tabloid. Of the
dailies, Lapin Kansa, Pohjolan Sanomat and Kainuun Sanomat moved into tabloid
format in January 2011, Satakunnan Kansa a year later. Tabloid format has become
the mainstream format among the Finnish newspapers thanks to its reader
friendliness. In the new tabloid format Aamulehti will be vertically half the
surface size of the present broadsheet Aamulehti but respectively thicker.
