- Resignation of Supervisory Board Member
Frankfurt a. Main, 19 June 2013 - China BPIC Surveying Instruments AG
('BPIC or 'the Company') hereby announces that Mr. Philip Moffat has
tendered his resignation as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the
Company for personal reasons effective 19 June 2013.
Mr. Moffat has confirmed that he has no disagreement with the Board/Company
and that he is not aware of any matter relating to his resignation that
needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company.
The Company would like to express its gratitude to Mr. Moffat for his
valuable contributions during his tenure of office.
- Application of the Appointment of New Supervisory Board Member
The Company is pleased to announce that the application of the appointment
of Mr. Matthias Schroeder as the new Supervisory Board Member has been made
today. The Supervisory Board intends to elect Mr. Schroeder as its
Chairman.
Matthias Schroeder was head of the 'Asia Desk' of the internationally
operating law firm BEITEN BURKHARDT in Shanghai and Munich. He was their
expert for Chinese law. The Asia Desk is part of the 'China Practice' of
BEITEN BURKHARDT with offices in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. Mr.
Schroeder focuses on accompanying European companies with investments in
China. Mr. Schroeder was born and raised in Beijing. Since 2011 he is a
partner at the law firm Rödl&Partner in Beijing responsible for Chinese
law and investments in China.
The Company aims to bring in Mr. Schroeder, who is a German national and
has been living in China for many years and is a lawyer by profession, to
the Supervisory Board not only to strengthen the supervisory function of
the Board but also to enhance the investors' relations of the Company in
particular to the European market.
As the Company is implementing its globalization plan, we believe the
appointment of Mr. Schroeder will be the first step towards our successful
business expansion.
About China BPIC Surveying Instruments AG (CSY)
BPIC AG is principally engaged in designing, manufacturing and selling of
surveying instruments under its own 'BPIC' brand in China. BPIC sells 4
types of products with a total of 6 different models, namely, Electronic
Total Station, Electronic Theodolite (including 2 models), Laser Electronic
Theodolite and Construction Cross-Liner Laser (including 2 models) to
domestic and overseas construction and engineering companies through
distributers. BPIC also takes orders from other surveying instruments
manufacturers in China including the designing and manufacturing of whole
surveying instruments equipment and component systems, sub-contracting
components manufacturing to third parties on behalf of customers, selling
of software etc. in accordance with the specification and requirements from
clients. BPIC's production facilities are located in Changping District,
Beijing, China.
