(firmenpresse) - Selling Your Designs Online
There are many outlets to sell your original artwork and designs online. Graphic designers and artists have benefited from the rise of popularity and the convenience or websites and businesses that provide artists with a marketplace to sell their work. There are many choices, but depending on the sites popularity, options, payment structure, and fees, there are several that stick out from the rest that you should concentrate your efforts on if promoting and selling your work.
This lens is dedicated to highlighting the top 5 websites to sell art prints. Make sure to explore all of you options and then concentrate on a few to take advantage of the market and get the most out of your artwork.
Getting the Most Out of Your Artwork
How do you get the most out of your artwork?
First, you need to think of yourself as a business, because you are one! Your artwork and craft are your own personal brand and you need to market and promote yourself just as you would a business. This includes creating a fan page on Facebook, account on Twitter, promote your work for sale on Pinterest, creating a personal website, and more. After you create accounts and put your work for sale at the places listed below, you need to list your personal pages on all of your social media accounts to help boost their ranking and get recognition and views through search engines and from fans.
Just having a store or account on places that allow you to sell artwork will help get you some recognition, which is great marketing, but not nearly enough. Invest in marketing and promoting your work so more people can enjoy what you do, and so that you have a chance of selling your creations to a wider audience.
#5. eBay
eBay is one of the best places to sell nearly anything, so it is hard to list them off any list that includes places to sell stuff. Problems with using eBay include a short lifespan of your product receiving exposure through their auction format and due to the fact that most people are searching for specific items and not looking to discover new artists or artwork, unless it falls into a specific category relating to something that people are passionate about.
The benefits of putting your product on eBay is that there is a very wide audience, and even if you don't sell your artwork, your business and name will show up in search engine results and you may entice several people to visit your website, research your work, or at least read your name and see a piece of your work.
#4. Artfire
ArtFire prides themselves on providing a marketplace for homemade art. There are many fascinating artists who sell through the site, but the focus is based more around trinkets and jewelry than around graphic design prints and art that is painted, drawn, etc.
If you are a multi-talented artist, which almost every artist is, you may benefit from selling several different types of products through a platform like ArtFire. If your focus is just on prints, paintings, and drawings, ArtFire may not be your best option.
#3. Zazzle
There are people that love Zazzle and people that hate it. After using Zazzle to sell prints, photographs, and t-shirt designs over the past few years, I would have to say that I lean more towards the latter. I have earned minimal income through several of my designs and feel that their audience is geared more towards people who are looking for t-shirts, key chains, and buttons over actual artwork.
I will say that one of the benefits is that you have a variety of items to put your artwork on, you can reach a wide audience, and anyone can create a store and products through their format. If you are just getting started or want another place to push your designs, this is an easy way to go.
#2. Etsy
For buying unique art, I love Etsy. I consider Etsy a far advanced and better version of ArtFire. When it came to needing unique gifts and things for my wedding this past year, they provided me with the best variety and most unique items. As far as selling your artwork and prints, Etsy can be tough for people who are just starting. You will need to provide your own canvas and frames, although you can upcharge for those types of services. Having to ship your work is another inconvenience that can make things difficult.
I would recommend Etsy for a seasoned artist who has a unique style and more than just prints to sell.
#1. Displa.io
Displa.io is presenting a fresh and new perspective to selling your art prints, and have caught the attention of many graphic designers just a little over a month after launching a private version of their site. Displa.io uses Displates, which are unique metal plates that your work is printed on and then shipped to the buyer.
They also have a unique and easy way for the buyers to hang the artwork through using a magnet.
Displa.io promotes artists work through displaying top rated and unique designs to their dedicated and art loving audience. If you are selling and promoting your artwork, using Displa.io is a must!
