PacStar's Experience and Expertise Resulted in Its Selection for This 900-Site Training Center Project

(firmenpresse) - PORTLAND, OR -- (Marketwired) -- 06/25/13 -- PacStar®, a leading developer and supplier of advanced communications solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), today announced it has been awarded a $4.6 million contract to supply Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN) wireless LAN equipment to US Army Reserve Centers (USARC). Based on PacStar's extensive experience working with DoD customers to ensure prompt and well supported deployments, PacStar, along with an alliance of partners, was selected to implement a standardized, CONUS-wide WLAN rollout for up to 900 training rooms and training centers.

Using an enterprise-class architecture based on FIPS-certified Aruba Networks access points and mobility controllers, the resulting solution will enable secure wireless distribution and access to training materials and videos, including access at remote locations. USARC considered the extensive installed base of Aruba Networks wireless solutions already deployed throughout the DoD as a key decision factor, as well as the extensive security/IA capabilities in the Aruba architecture.

PacStar's recent "Federal Partner of the Year" recognition from Aruba also provided assurance to USARC that they selected the right team for the project. "PacStar is a leading Federal partner for Aruba, and we are proud to work with them," said Jay Hatch, VP Federal Sales of Aruba Networks. "PacStar's extensive technology expertise and world-class customer service complement Aruba's high performing, secure wireless LAN solutions."

USARC awarded the contract to PacStar through its ITES contract partner. "Together, this team is best suited to deliver to USARC's needs," said Bob Dunn, Chief Executive Officer of PacStar. "We are proud to collaborate with Aruba to meet USARC's needs and look forward to additional projects in the future."
