BMO Bank of Montreal invites customers and members of the community to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its Main Branch in Selkirk on Wednesday, June 26th, 2013.
"I'd like to congratulate BMO on 100 years in our community," said Mayor Larry Johannson. "The City of Selkirk is proud of its rich heritage which is strengthened by the long-standing relationships built by community members and organizations, like BMO, who contribute to the vibrancy of this neighbourhood."
Selkirk is located in the centre of a thriving fishing industry positioned strategically on the Red River. The city has produced steady commercial development, particularly in the natural resource sector where minerals and vast timber are plentiful.
"Selkirk is a strong example of Manitoba's economic diversity, with health care, agriculture, steel and tourism all playing an important role in the local economy," said Robert Kavcic, Senior Economist, BMO Capital Markets.
