USG People finalises sale of various General Staffing activities

Almere, 25 June 2013 - USG People has finalised the sale of its General Staffing
activities in Spain, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Poland to
Randstad. USG People announced its intention to sell these business units in
April and the European Commission approved the transaction earlier this month.
In the strategic revision announced at the end of 2011 USG People stated that it
only wished to operate in markets in which it can offer unique added value to
its stakeholders and create sufficient mass to ensure a leading and profitable
position throughout the cycle.
USG People's General Staffing business units in Spain, Italy, Austria,
Switzerland, Luxembourg and Poland had insufficient mass in their respective
market segments to create enough value, as set out in the strategic objectives.
The sale of these relatively low-yield activities will have a positive effect on
the profitability of USG People throughout the cycle and will therefore also
support the strategic financial targets. This also has a positive impact on
funding requirements due to a reduced burden on working capital. The proceeds
from the sale of ? 20 million will be used for the further implementation of the
strategy.
USG People's more concentrated positioning strengthens the organisation's focus
on the strategic objectives, enables it to invest in high-yield concepts (such
as the recently introduced USG Professionals), and prepares it for future
developments in the HR services market.
