State Farm(R) Commits Resources and Funds to Help Albertans Deal With Devastating Deluge
Canadian Red Cross receives $15,000 for those in need following historic floods

(firmenpresse) - AURORA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/26/13 -- State Farm has donated $15,000 to the (CRC) and members of its claims catastrophe response team are on the scene to help assist Albertans devastated by disastrous floods.
The destruction brought by these floods is epic in scale with more than 175,000 Albertans having been evacuated from their homes; in Calgary alone, over 75,000 were evacuated. Water is slowly receding, but many have still not been able to return to their homes.
The CRC will use these funds and the charitable contributions from all Canadians to distribute hygiene kits and blankets, family reunification services, registration for evacuees, and support reception centres and shelters in Calgary, Nanton, Blackie, Claresholm, DeWinton and Exshaw with volunteers and materials.
"We've been watching the media coverage of the devastating flooding in Alberta with great concern for the families impacted," explains Barbara Bellissimo, Senior Vice President and Chief Agent State Farm Canada. "It's times like these that communities need our assistance the most and helping our customers with their recovery is part of our promise to them. Our Alberta agents, employees and their families have also been impacted by these floods but are assisting our customers hourly. We know this commitment and the additional funding we are providing to the Red Cross will help those to recovery from the aftermath of these floods, our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected."
