Telenor is a successful applicant for telecommunications licence in Myanmar

(Oslo, Norway / Yangon, Myanmar - June 27, 2013) Telenor today announced that
it has been declared a successful applicant for a nationwide telecommunications
licence in Myanmar. Following a final licence negotiation process with the
government, Telenor plans to rapidly roll out a modern telecommunications
network and services that will deliver the benefits of mobile communications to
people throughout the country.

Telenor will build a state-of-the-art mobile network using HSPA and LTE-ready
technologies for Myanmar to match the sophistication of leading networks around
the world today, and plans to achieve nationwide coverage in Myanmar within five
years. A full range of mobile services, both voice and data, will be
commercially launched as the initial offering, anticipated to happen in 2014.
The introduction of telecommunication services in Myanmar will drive social
development and economic growth for the country.
Telenor's strategy for Myanmar will be based on four strategic pillars:

* Drive significant growth in mobile penetration through a rapid network roll-
out and providing affordable services through an extensive distribution
network across the country
