Gowest Gold Regrets the Passing of Randal Roussain
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 07/05/13 -- Gowest Gold Ltd. ("Gowest" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: GWA)(OTCBB: GWSAF) is saddened to announce the recent passing of Randal 'Randy' James Roussain, the Company's Project Coordinator for Exploration. Mr. Roussain died suddenly in Meaford, Ontario on July 1st at the age of 66.
A widely respected exploration geologist experienced in all phases of surface exploration and underground work in the development of a mining company, he joined Gowest in 2000 as the Company's Project Geologist responsible for various explorations work around the Wawa and Timmins area. This included exploration on Gowest's gold project in Tully Township which is a key part of the Company's focus today.
Mr. Roussain had spent more than 35 years working in the Timmins gold camp with companies such as Canamax and Kinross. He was intimately involved with the discovery of a number of new deposits including the Bell Creek-Marlhill-Vogel deposits with Amax/Canamax and the prized 1060 Zone at Hoyle Pond in Timmins with Kinross which is presently being mined by Goldcorp. Mr. Roussain led the Kinross geological team involved in the early development and promotion of Kinross in the Timmins camp.
